Transparency and Open Parliament Week in Mexico

10 principles of open parliament

From 10-14 March, international and Mexican parliamentarians and experts from the academia and civil society will gather in Mexico City to find solutions to design and implement better rules and practices towards transparency and Open Parliament.

Transparency is the common denominator for the public sector to relate to citizens. The Open Parliament aims at changing the way how society related to its representatives through openness and publication of information as well as the creation of spaces for citizens to engage in the public debate. Open data and new technologies offer a window of opportunity for representatives to be closer to its electorate.

The event is organised by the Mexican Senate, Transparencia Mexicana, Fundar, and the National Democratic Institute.
